You Can Make A Difference

The numbers are astounding! Millions of cats are euthanized each year because there just aren't enough homes for them.
Shelters across America are left to take care of this dirty job when they become overcrowded and adoptions don't happen.  You can be a part of the solution by simply spaying or neutering your cat.  Every litter not born makes a huge difference.  For feral cats (wild cats), TNR is the only solution. TNR is trap, neuter and release.  Some agencies "ear tip" their feral cats to identify them.  Managed colonies can survive for many years and live healthy lives.  To find out more about TNR and about feral cats, visit  the ALLEY CAT website.  Feral cats are so special they even have their own day! Check out the NATIONAL FERAL CAT DAY to learn more.
The Fix Foundation is a non-profit organization located in Franklin, Kentucky.  We are dedicated to helping the community by providing low cost spay and neuter options for people who couldn't afford it otherwise.  We actively participate in TNR for feral colonies.  We provide transportation (pick up and drop off) of a pet if you can't make the drive.  We are currently working with groups in Bowling Green, Kentucky and Nashville, Tennessee and hope to expand our area as volunteers and funds become available.

Aren't puppies cute? Everyone loves them, but not everyone has a place in their home for one.  What happens to unwanted puppies? Some are dumped by the roadside in hopes that someone will find them and take them home.  Others are brought to shelters so they can deal with them instead.  Ultimately, the price for too many puppies is that many are euthanized because of the lack of available homes.  There is a way you can help! Be responsible and spay or neuter your pet.  You will save a lot of lives by this simple act.

How can you help? Even though you are just one person, that's okay! Visit your local animal shelter and volunteer.  Join a "Feral Cat Network" and help manage a colony in your community.  Help a local non-profit group in their efforts to save the lives of kittens and puppies.  There is so much that can be done and usually not enough people to help.  Once you begin the research, you will be amazed by the statistics.  It is sad that in a country as wealthy as America, millions of animals are put to death.  Spaying or neutering is the only humane solution.
